Symo Advanced SnapINverter

for Commercial Solar

The inverter generation for maximum safety, reliability & ROI

The Fronius Symo Advanced inverter line features six models ranging from 10 kW to 24 kW, ideal for commercial and industrial applications. The Symo Advanced is lightweight and combines high-power density with flexibility to ensure the fastest possible installation for your PV project.

The small number of total power conversion electronics adds to the high serviceability from any mounting spot. You get total system granularity with only a low number of system components.

Optimizing costs with Fronius inverters

For larger photovoltaic systems it is particularly important to keep the running costs (OPEX) as low as possible and to maximize the yield as much as possible. This results in shorter payback periods and high returns (a higher return on investment) – to the delight of every investor.

By using Fronius inverters, an economically viable solar system can be implemented even under complex system conditions. Thanks to the SuperFlex Design feature of the Fronius Symo Advanced, even complex systems with different roof orientations or shading are not a problem.

Shade mitigation

The Fronius Symo line comes with a smart shade mitigation feature: The Fronius Dynamic Peak Manager (DPM) is an enhanced MPP tracking software that scans the entire I-V curve when searching for the optimal operating point. Usually, a MPP tracker starts looking for the maximum power point at a high voltage, because that’s where usually the peak of the curve lies. However, in a shaded array, the curve turns into an S-shape, where the peak at a high voltage is no longer the maximum power point across the entire curve.

By checking the entire characteristic curve on a regular basis, the DPM finds the global Maximum Power Point (GMPP) for partially shaded arrays. As with many other technologies, software is replacing clunky hardware with smarter and more integrated solutions. (see study here).

SunSpec rapid shutdown

With an integrated power line communication (PLC) transmitter, based on the SunSpec Rapid Shutdown communication standard, all Symo Advanced inverters have attained UL-PVRSE listing as a transmitter. The inverter is also listed as a UL-PVRSS with APsystem’s RSD device (Rapid Shutdown).

PC board replacement

Fronius Symo inverters are incredibly easy to service and ready for pro-active service solutions. Thanks to the inverter’s field-serviceability, reliability and low component count, Fronius Solutions Partners can solve most service issues with just one truck roll to the site. This means minimum time and cost for you and maximum yield for system owners.

Proven SnapINverter technology

Fronius SnapINverters are characterized by intelligent device design, maximum flexibility and smart functions.

  • Easy installation: Simply swing the inverter into the wall bracket.
  • Uniform design: Once you are familiar with one model, you can easily install others too.
  • Highest service quality: Easily accessible interfaces, remote updates and the PC board replacement process ensure quick and easy servicing.
  • Easy to use: Integrated data communication and online monitoring through Fronius Solar.web.
  • Future-proof: Open interfaces ensure the easy integration of third-party components – today and in the future.

Flexible AC service options

The 10 and 12kW models are available in 208 and 240 volt Delta, High-Leg, and WYE transformer output – eliminating the need for costly transformers. The 15-24 kW models work with 480 volt WYE services.

Fronius Symo Advanced is UL 3741 certified

UL 3741 is a solution to the NEC 690.12 requirement of module level rapid shutdown within a photovoltaic (PV) solar system. The Fronius Symo Advanced string inverter is UL 3741 certified for use with the PanelClaw® and IronRidge® racking systems when the inverter is installed within the 1ft array boundary.
